X-17 XPAAR ExperimentalPowered Armor Assault Rifle

The X-17 XPAAR is the latest in rifles designed for use in the P-3 Internal Power Exosuit, or Powered Armor. It's rugged, capable of being used as a club, being dropped from height, and resisting a force of 2 tons per square inch applied at 90 degrees from the side for at least 10 seconds.

This is partly in thanks to the shape and structure of the weapon, being mostly solid and dense, which leads to the weapon's weight being restricted to P-3 users. However, it is possible to be used by standard infantry men, as long as a heavy mount is used and two people are used to carry it.

Damage and ammo capacity is very high, firing a round similar in design, if not size, of the P-83. This allows for a lot of firepower being put downrange, however, the rate of fire is a bit slow, at 300 rounds per minute. While this is, admittedly, a lot slower than a 'bit,' it is more than sufficient for this weapon's intended purposes.

This weapon, when used with P-3 Exosuits, can function as a sonar device. An emitter and sensor, mounted on the top and front respectively, allow a P-3 user to see in what is known as "Bat Vision," effectively seeing through sound. While obviously this is not the only means by which they can see, it is preferred by most.

Any enemies using a T-91 TechCloak Suit, will become visible, although only to the P-3. However, the BatNet has been designed to automatically mark these targets on the HUDs of any soldier within range of the P-3. After an unavoidable delay, those soldiers will transmit the targets to the HUDs of other nearby soldiers, and the cycle repeats, with the delay getting more and more pronounced as they go along. The gun has a very narrow cone of 'vision' for this, however, so P-3 patrols are a common sight in the inner stations.
